So below I have answered some of the questions you may have:

• why can't you just give me one fixed quote?
On the costs page I tried to highlight where costs are likely to be incurred. But because I do not know exactly what you are trying to achieve I cannot determine what type of hosting you will need. Or how many pages you will need me to create and the complexity of those pages.
• What is a Domain name and why do I need one?
A domain is an address reference on the internet, you could think of it similarly to your residential address. Just like the post office controls residential address generation there are registrars that control internet domain names.
The post office then knows that your particular plot called House number, road, town,county, post code is located at a particular geographic location. Similarly the registrar knows that your domain name (abc.com) is located at an internet address reference of 27.223.122.250 which has been leased to an Internet Service Provider.
• What is hosting?
Hosting is the place ( computer ) where you actually put your website files. As explained above it is at an ISP.
